工件在防銹封存前、電鍍前和涂裝前都一定進行除油清洗，超聲除油的關鍵是選用含針對性的表面活性劑和乳化劑的清洗液。實踐證明，超聲清洗前的浸泡(以軟化油污)是非常有效的手段。

The workpiece must be degreased and cleaned before anti rust storage, electroplating and coating. The key to ultrasonic degreasing is to select the cleaning solution containing targeted surfactant and emulsifier. Practice has proved that soaking before ultrasonic cleaning (to soften oil stain) is a very effective means.

鋼鐵零件在軋制或熱處理后，表面會生成一層5-10μm的氧化鐵，超聲波清洗不用強酸、強堿，減少了公害避免了氫脆，提高了鍍膜質量。

1. Carbon deposit

積炭是燃油和機油在高溫缺氧條件下燃燒生成的硬質碳化物，與金屬表面吸附，分子間結合強度大，用一般方法很難處理。如大連機車車輛廠過去清洗柴油機缸蓋和活塞等零件上的積炭，用汽油泡、小鋸條刮等辦法，不但洗不凈，還損壞了活塞表面的光潔度，每人每班只能清洗半臺柴油機，改用超聲波清洗后只用2h就可以洗完一臺，提高工效8倍。

工件被機油污染，再落入塵土，形成油膩；油泥是機油、焦油、含氧酸、碳化物、灰及水的混合物，用超聲波清洗可輕松清洗潔凈。

電子行業(yè)普遍采用超聲波清洗印刷線路，以清除表面助焊劑中的松香及硅表面微米級的顆粒；大量精細的電器元件、真空器件也從50年代起廣泛采用超聲波進行脫脂、除銹及黑化(氧化)前的清洗。
